College House Commit to Carbon Reduction

College House is partnering with Toitū Envirocare to put SoilFood™ at the heart of their efforts to reduce their carbon footprint. Last year, about 90% of all the waste produced on site at College House was sent to landfill, and 1/3 of this waste was food waste. To prioritise sustainability, College House intends to pursue a SoilFood™Machine as a viable option to reduce their carbon, and increase food waste diversion. The machine accepts all food, and even serviettes and certain varieties of compostable packaging. The dehydration process reduces the waste volume by 80% and produces a nutrient rich fertiliser that will be used on the gardens at College House. The SoilFood™ System is a great demonstration of the Triple Bottom Line benefits of a circular economy, and how it can positively impact the planet, prosperity, and people.
